Our group offers investment advice and provides a platform for overall financial planning using a team approach. We believe in clear communication, that candor counts, and doing more than is expected. We serve people who value relationships, and who need assistance in each facet of the planning process, from investment counsel to legacy planning. We exist to provide a superior experience that our clients deserve and expect, but sadly find lacking in today’s world.

Steve Elder, Senior Vice President, Financial Consultant, CLU® CWA®

Steve is one of those people who always knew what he wanted to do with his life. Beginning with an internship at Dean Witter Reynolds while in college, he has spent his entire career in financial services, beginning with the Northwestern Financial Network in 1989 after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance from the University of Tennessee.

He joined Hilliard Lyons in 2000 and earned his Chartered Wealth Advisor® (CWA®) designation. The CWA® curriculum is offered through The Academy of Multidisciplinary Practice and is accredited by the Estate and Wealth Strategies Institute at Michigan State University. Steve was also chosen to participate in the Securities Industries Institute at the campus of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The Securities Industry Institute is the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s (SIFMA) premier leadership and management education program. Participants in the three-consecutive year program meet for one week each March to complete required course work. Steve recently graduated from this program.

Steve is a member of the Hilliard Lyons Executive Club, which is comprised of peak performers in the firm’s top 33 percentile of talent.

A past President and current board member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Steve is active in his church and various community ministries, along with being involved in the community at large in different capacities. He is married and has two children.

As the principal member of The Elder Group of Hilliard Lyons, Steve strives to provide an exceptional client experience through excellent client service and emphasis on investment planning, along with tax and estate planning.
